As the apex body representing the private tourism sector, UMTA is fully committed to driving the sustainable growth of Myanmar’s tourism industry. We serve as a vital bridge connecting our members, government authorities, and international partners.
Our focus is on empowering local tour operators, promoting current and new destinations, and vitalizing Myanmar’s presence in the global travel market.
Union Of Myanmar Travel Association (UMTA) is a Non-Governmental Organization founded in 2002 incorporating leading all registered Travels & Tours Companies under the Ministry of Union Government Office, Registration of team.
After more than 20 years of stagnation and slow growth, Myanmar Tourism gained momentum when the government permitted private entrepreneurs to form tour companies in 1992-1993.
Yangon, the capital city of Myanmar, is so evergreen and cool with lush tropical trees, shady parks and beautiful lakes it has earned the name of "The Garden City of the East".
Bagan, which is known as the city of four million pagodas, is one of the richest archaeological sites in Asia and the main tourist destination in Myanmar.
